Au Pair Program in China

Are you curious about the East and fascinated by its people and languages?

We have an opportunity for you! Come spend three months in China, living as an au pair with a Chinese host family!

Many Chinese host families are looking for au pairs who can tutor their children in the English language. If you are a native speaker or highly proficient in English and can teach children languages, then look no further! You can have a cultural exchange experience living with a Chinese host family for 3/6/9 or 12 months! Imagine learning Mandarin, expanding your vision, and experiencing its culture firsthand!

This is an opportunity of a lifetime!

Most hosts are from big cities, like Shanghai or Beijing. However, we also have host families who are from populated cities like Suzhou, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, etc.

What are your duties?

you have a duty of 30 hours per week and a maximum of 7 hours per day
teach (young) children English through creative games, singing, crafts etc., or help bigger children with their English homework
care for the host’s chilren (for e.g., accompany them to school and pick them up, bring them to parks and playgrounds)
handle household chores related to children (for e.g., tidy up children’s bedrooms and toys, do children’s laundry, etc.)

Who are we looking for?

between 18 to 30 years old
at least completed your high school or secondary school
enjoys working with children
an English native speaker or with high proficiency
can teach English to (young) children
open to cultural exchange experiences
curious to explore China
no criminal record
healthy
be committed to at least 3/6 months (extension for another 6 months is possible)

 

What would you receive?

a private room at the host’s residence
receive RMB 2,000 pocket money per month
attend FREE mandarin lessons (8 to 15 hours per week, depending on your interest)
3/6 days paid leave (if you complete your 3/6-month program)
1.5 days off per week
complimentary orientation training after arrival
can attend cultural activities for free

The host will provide

board and lodging
provide plane ticket stipend (up to RMB 3,000/6,000 upon completion of a 3/6-month program)
provide medical and travel insurance
pay for the au pair’s Mandarin lessons (depending on au pair’s interest)
cover the au pair’s visa application fee (upon completion of program) and visa renewal fee (if the au pair extend their stay)
